SRHR

At PWOGID, our Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) programs are designed to empower individuals and communities with knowledge, services, and advocacy. We focus on comprehensive, inclusive, and rights-based approaches to promote health, dignity, and equality.

1. Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

We provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive sexual education that covers anatomy, contraception, consent, gender equality, and healthy relationships. Our CSE programs help young people and adults make informed decisions, reduce unintended pregnancies, and prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

2. Youth Empowerment and Peer Education

Young people are at the heart of our work. We train peer educators to lead discussions, workshops, and outreach activities that create safe spaces for dialogue about sexual health, rights, and wellbeing. This peer-led approach builds confidence, leadership skills, and community awareness.

3. Access to Reproductive Health Services

PWOGID supports access to family planning, prenatal and postnatal care, safe childbirth services, and STI testing and treatment. We collaborate with health centers and mobile clinics to ensure underserved populations receive essential reproductive health care.

4. Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHM)

We promote menstrual health awareness and provide menstrual hygiene products and education to girls and women, especially in low-resource settings. By breaking the stigma around menstruation, we help improve school attendance and quality of life.

5. Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Support

Our programs raise awareness about GBV, sexual harassment, and exploitation while offering survivor-centered services, counseling, and legal referrals. We engage communities in dialogue to challenge harmful norms and promote respect and equality.

6. Advocacy and Policy Engagement

PWOGID actively collaborates with governments, NGOs, and community leaders to influence policies that uphold and protect SRHR. We advocate for legal reforms, increased funding, and inclusive health systems that leave no one behind.
